ACDI Driver and Monitor packages upgrade from v4.1 to v24.3
We will show you how to upgrade the ACDI Driver and Monitor packages from version 4.1 to version 24.3. All required files can be downloaded from your ACDI server
Â
To do this, please go the "Administration" tab on your left, then "Event Service (eDirectory), and download both archive packages available on the page.
Â
The "AuditDriver package" contains the folder "Designer" with all packages for Designer.
The "AuditDriver AppShim and Libs" package contains the AppShim and library that are necessary for the new Audit Driver.
Download the packages and go to the Server folder to copy the files from it to your IDM server.Â
In the folder opt/novell/edirectory/lib/dirxml/classes on your IDM server, you can see that you already have a file called "audit_driver.jar".
This file belongs to the previous Audit Driver version.
Since you want to upgrade it to the newest one, you’ll need to replace it with the file from the package "AuditDriver AppShim and Libs" you just downloaded. In order to do that, use the command "ndsmanage stopall" to stop the IDM server.
It can take some time, so please be patient.
The server is stopped now, which allows us to replace the .jar file with the one we downloaded a few moments ago.
If you already have the json file on your IDM server, you don't have to replace it.
Let's use the command "ndsmanage startall" to start the IDM server.
Now, head over to Designer. Right click on "Package catalog" and select "Import packages" from the drop-down list of options.
Browse the folder Designer. Let's select all the packages in the folder as we need all of them. Okay, the packages were successfully imported.
Now it’s time to start upgrading packages for the ACDI Driver. Right click on the ACDI Driver, then go to "properties",
then "Packages". You can see here that all packages are available for an upgrade.
Let's manually upgrade each package in the "Operation" column. Then apply the changes.
The settings don’t require any changes, so we’ll leave them as they are. In the menu on your left, go to "Driver configuration" and then to the "Driver Parameters" tab to check your settings.
KeyStore and other settings should remain the same.
Here is your domain name and port. Everything looks good here.Â
Now you are ready to deploy your ACDI Driver. Right click on ACDI Driver, then select "Live" and "Deploy".
Let's move to upgrading ACDI Monitor.
First things first, you need to right click on "Driver Set", then choose "Properties" and go to "Packages".
Â
We will upgrade a package which contains common settings of ACDI Monitor. Â
Select "Upgrade" in the "Operation" column. Now apply the changes.
We can see configurations here but won't change anything. Let's leave them as they are.
To check if everything is ok, right click on "Driver Set", then go to "Properties" and finally to "GCVs".Â
There is no need to deploy the entire Driver Set.
You only need to deploy a library called "SKyPRO".
Â
Right click on it, then select "Live" and click "Deploy".
This library contains all common policies, EcmaScipt and Global Configuration Values (GCVs) to make a common driver set of ACDI Monitor settings.
Â
For each driver which is monitored, you should upgrade the Audit Monitor packages. As an example, let's work with the "HR" driver you see here. Right click, then go to "Properties"
Â
At the bottom of the actions list and then to "Packages".
Now you can see two packages which require an upgrade.
Okay, we’ll select "Upgrade" in the "Operation" column
And then apply the changes.
Here you should see all the settings that were set for the driver. Please leave them as they are.
Let's check the settings for Audit Monitor of this particular driver now. Go to the tab "GCVs" in the menu on your left, then switch to "Manual".
You’ll find the settings here. Now switch back to "Automatic".
We’ve made all necessary changes, so let's deploy the driver now.
ACDI Driver and Monitor were successfully upgraded.
Thank you for your attention. Have a great day. Bye!
